This foot-long ivory staff is topped with a large crystal ball. It can be used to create audio and visual illusions. Half of those who are zapped by the staff realize that it is merely an illusion and are not affected. However, the other half suffer psychic damage, which is as real and devastating as physical damage. ==Effects==
 
Deals direct [[MAGIC]] damage to ALL enemy units, according to the following formula:
 
*First a random number is determined between 0 and 2 (this number can be a decimal)
 
*This number is then added to the number 1
 
**This resulting number is determined only this one time and is used as the base for ALL final damage calculations for each stack.
 
*The resulting number is then multiplied by the number of units in each stack and added to 100,000 to arrive at the total damage for that stack.
 
**For example:  A stack of 20,000 zombies receives their damage from Staff -
 
***If the random number generated is 1.2, this is added to 1, (2.2) and multiplied by 20,000, to arrive at 44,000.
 
***This is then added to 100,000 to reach a final total of 144,000 points of damage. This is the total damage applied to the stack of zombies.
 
 
 
*Damage is affected by unit resistances and abilities such as [[Scales]] and [[Weaken Resistance to|Weakness]]
 
 
 
==Notes==
 
This item deals the same general amount of damage as [[Beta:Javelin of Lightning Bolt|Javelin of Lightning Bolt]], but deals [[MAGIC]] damage, which is a more often resisted attack type. This item also lacks the Javelin's secondary effect of counter attack power reduction. Therefore, this is effectively an inferior item to the Javelin.
 
 
 
Given that the number of units in each stack is a portion of the calculation of damage dealt, this item actually deals MORE damage to fodder stacks than it does to complex and ultimate stacks.
 
 
 
This item guarantees at least 1 million damage dealt when attacking a mage with 10 stacks.

Effects

  • Deals a variable amount of Magic damage to all enemy stacks
    • The damage formula is as follows: 100,000 + ([random number between 1-3] * [number of units in stack])
      • For example, if the 'random number' rolls a 2, and there are 15,000 units in one of the stacks, that stack will be dealt 130,000 Magic damage
      • Since the damage is variable depending on unit number, each stack will be dealt a different amount of damage, but it will always be over 100,000
