See here for information on Item Generation, including the complex formula and what influences it
 +
 +
Lesser Items are a large part of a mage's daily activities and their effects can often have heavy influence on the outcome of certain situations, including battles. Lesser Items come in many different shapes and sizes: there are battle items and non-battle items, of which the latter includes summon items, resource-granting items, resource-siphoning items, and the list goes on. Unlike Unique Items, Lesser Items are, for the most part, very common, and are generated invariably as a mage consumes turns according to the percentage of Libraries that the mage has built in relation to their land size. Mages can hold an infinite quantity of Lesser Items, except for the two 'special' Lesser Items (Magical Compass and Minor Indulgence), which mages can only have three of at any one time.
 +
 +
Other than Item generation, there are several other actions that will produce Lesser Items for a mage, all of which have their own chances of producing Lesser Items:
 +
* Purchasing Lesser Items from the Black Market, which are either sold by other mages or generated naturally by the server at a rate that differs from server to server
 +
* As a reward from a pleased God
 +
* Through the use of other Lesser Items such as Treasure Chests or Letters of the Thieves' Guild
 +
* Through the pillaging of other mages
 +
* Through the use of Spells like Blue Steal Artifact or white Locate Artifact
 +
 +
Lesser Items have many different purposes, but the three primary methods that mages use to employ Lesser Items are the 'Use Item' function, the 'Assignment' function, and during battles. Using the 'Use Item' function will do exactly that: it will consume whatever item is chosen outside of battle, and the effects (or lack thereof) will be experienced immediately, whether the target was the user, or an enemy mage. On the other hand, the 'Assignment' function sets a Lesser Item to be activated during defensive battles (at whatever set parameter) in order to improve the chances of defending ones' land. Offensive battles, on the other hand, offer mages the option of using a Lesser Item in order to either strengthen their army, weaken the enemy army, or both.
 +
 +
There are, as detailed above, several ways to generate/earn Lesser Items. There are also several ways to lose Lesser Items, of which the most common are being pillaged by an enemy mage, being the target of certain spells listed above, and obviously, using the Lesser Item, which will consume it (even if blocked by a target's barriers). In addition, a mage always has the option to sell some or all of their Lesser Item hoard in the Black Market, trading their items for a varied amount of gold.

All of your units' Primary and Extra Attacks are attributed initiative=6, making it almost sure that your units strike first in a battle (unless opponent uses initiative influencing magic too). Notes:
+
The initiative of all of your units' Primary and Extra Attack are set to 6, almost guaranteeing that your units will hit first in battle (unless opponent uses initiative-influencing magic or items, too). Notes:

* Any unit having an initiative above 6 (from multiple modifiers) is treated as having initiative 6 when the battle starts.

* Any unit having an initiative above 6 (from multiple modifiers) is treated as having initiative 6 when the battle starts.
* Paralyze will cancel out the effect of Ash of Invisibility and vice versa (i.e. invisible paralysed unit will have its original initiative; no init=0 nor init=6).
+
* Paralyze will cancel out the effect of Ash of Invisibility and vice-versa (i.e. invisible paralysed unit will have its original initiative; no init=0 nor init=6).
* In case of Attacker and Defender use Ash of Invisibility (and no other initiative modifiers are used) both sides starts their attacks with highest initiative. It causes the battle to start with attacks of the top stacks while the first hitter is selected at random. Then the scenario repeats for next stacks which are chosen from the highest to the lowest ones.
+
* In the rare case of both the Attacker and the Defender using Ash of Invisibility at the same time (and no other initiative modifiers are used), both armies start with their initiatives set to 6. This causes the battle to start with the attacks of the top stacks with the first hitter determined at random. This scenario is repeated for all other stacks, from top to bottom in order.

Introduction

See here for information on Item Generation, including the complex formula and what influences it

Other than Item generation, there are several other actions that will produce Lesser Items for a mage, all of which have their own chances of producing Lesser Items:

Lesser Items

Note: Unique Items have their own page with shortlisted descriptions

Ash of Invisibility

The initiative of all of your units' Primary and Extra Attack are set to 6, almost guaranteeing that your units will hit first in battle (unless opponent uses initiative-influencing magic or items, too). Notes:

 • Any unit having an initiative above 6 (from multiple modifiers) is treated as having initiative 6 when the battle starts.
 • Paralyze will cancel out the effect of Ash of Invisibility and vice-versa (i.e. invisible paralysed unit will have its original initiative; no init=0 nor init=6).
 • In the rare case of both the Attacker and the Defender using Ash of Invisibility at the same time (and no other initiative modifiers are used), both armies start with their initiatives set to 6. This causes the battle to start with the attacks of the top stacks with the first hitter determined at random. This scenario is repeated for all other stacks, from top to bottom in order.
Blood Stained Map

Grants a 3% chance of being awarded each of the five Holy Grails, for the cumulative chance of receiving a Grail of 15%.

Book of Golem Summoning

Summons 7 - 25 Iron Golems.

Book of Prophecy

Grants 5,000 - 10,000 population.

Bottle of Eversmoking

Increases the accuracy of both friendly and enemy Orcs by 10%. This item is disabled on all servers.

Brooch of Protection

All friendly units are granted +40% to their Melee Resistance. On Arch server, this value is +50%.

Bubble Wine
 • All friendly units are granted an increase of 10% to their Primary, Extra, and Counter AP, and 30% to their HP.
 • On the Arch Server, all friendly units are granted an increase of 20% to their Primary and Counter AP and 30% to their HP.
Candle of Sleeping

Reduces all enemy units' Damage Resistances by 10% and reduces their efficiency by 10%.

Capsule Monster

Summons 1,000 Capsule Monsters in battle that vanish once the battle is finished. Surviving Capsule Monsters do not count towards any calculation of conquering land.

Carpet of Flying

Grants Flying to all friendly units (unless they already had Flying).

Coffin

Summons a set amount of a certain unit, either 2000 Zombies, 1000 Ghouls, 500 Wraiths, 20 Liches, or 20 Vampires. The chance is equal for each set of units (20%). The Coffin is similar to the Icon NETHER.gif spell Night of the Living Dead.

Cosmetics

Grants all Humans and Elves the Beauty ability. This item is disabled on all servers.

Crystal Ball

Spies on an enemy mage and reveals pieces of information, such as number of buildings, stack order, number of units in a stack, etc. Item is similar to the Icon PHANTASM.gif spell Scrying Mirror, albeit less effective.

Dozens of Silver-tipped Arrows

Adds the Holy attack type to all friendly units with a Missile attack type. This item is disabled on all servers.

Drums of War

Reduces the Primary, Extra, and Counter AP of all enemy units by 10%. On the Arch Server, there is no reduction to Extra AP.

Figurine of Ice Queen
 • Deals a variable amount of Cold damage to all enemy stacks.
 • The damage is equal to: (100,000 + [(random number between 1-3) x (numberofunitsinstack)].
 • For example, if the random number turns out to be 2 and there are 1,000 units in a stack, the damage would be 102,000.
Flasks of Holy Water

Deals 100,000 Holy damage to all enemy Undead units.

Horn of Valhalla

Grants the user 2,000 - 4,000 Knights.

Javelin of Lightning Bolt
 • Deals a variable amount of Lightning damage to all enemy stacks and reduces all enemy units' Counter AP by 25%.
 • The damage is equal to: (100,000 + [(random number between 1-3) x (numberofunitsinstack)].
 • For example, if the random number turns out to be 2 and there are 1,000 units in a stack, the damage would be 102,000.
Letters of the Thieves' Guild

Enables the user to steal Geld, an item, or a Unique Item from the target enemy mage, if the item passes through barriers. The Letters are the only way to steal a unique item from an opponent.

Magical Compass

Grants roughly 100 - 250 acres of Wilderness. Yields decrease as the user's land increases.

Mana Crystal

Grants 30,000 - 70,000 mana. Mana is granted after upkeep is taken away.

Mana Vortex
 • Destroy 3,000 - 9,000 of the target's mana, or 6,000 - 18,000 of the target's mana on Arch.
 • If a Mage has more than maximum mana, that mana is drained instead (i.e. a Mage has 1,000,000/800,000 mana. 200,000 mana is destroyed).
Minor Indulgence

Dispels spells cast by Gods, other mages, and spells that have the No Dispel attribute, such as Icon PHANTASM.gif The Wall of Silence. Only dispels one spell at a time, and it will not dispel a mage's own beneficial spells, like Icon PHANTASM.gif Concentration or Icon ASCENDANT.gif The Holy Light. A mage can only hold 3 of these items, and they can never be pillaged.

Missile shield

Increases Ranged Resistance of all friendly units by 50%. Resistance is capped at 100%.

Monkey Brains
Nets of Ensnarement

Grounds one random enemy stack. If the randomly-chosen stack has Flying, it also suffers -1 initiative. If the randomly-chosen stack does not have Flying, this item has no effect. This item is only active on Arch Server.

Official List of Demands

Has an equal chance to trigger an effect of one of the four following items against target enemy mage:

Oil Flasks

Reduces all enemy units' Fire resistance by 40%, which can put fire resistance below 0%. On Arch Server, this reduction value is 50%.

Ointment of Healing

Heals 1 - 5 HP for each unit in each stack. For example, if there are 1,000 units in a stack, it will heal between 1,000 and 5,000 HP. It is similar to the Icon ASCENDANT.gif Spell Healing, albeit a bit more varied in its healing.

Peaches

Grants the user 1,500 - 5,000 Gorillas.

Pipes of the Sewer

Destroys exactly 500,000 gold and 7,500 population, unless these values are higher than what the target mage currently has. On the Arch Server, the Pipes destroy 15,000 population rather than 7,500.

Pixie Dust

Reduces all Damage Resistances of the enemy army by a total of 20% divided by the number of stacks. This item differs from Candle of Sleeping because it assigns this penalty to each stack equally. For example, if the enemy mage has 10 stacks, then it will reduce each stacks' Damage Resistance by 2%. If the enemy mage has 2 stacks, it will reduce each stacks' Damage Resistance by 10%.

Potion of Valor

Increases the Primary, Extra and Counter AP of all friendly units by 20%. On Arch Server, the increase is 30% with no effect to Extra AP.

Pouch of Herbs

Resurrects 15% of losses after a battle of all friendly stacks who survived the battle, and increases Poison Resistance of all friendly units by 10%.

Powder Keg
 • Deals a variable amount of Fire damage to all enemy stacks and reduces the AP of their Primary, Extra and Counter attacks by 5%.
 • Damage is equal to: (random number between 1-3) * (numberofunitsinstack).
 • On Arch Server, there is no reduction to Extra AP.
Ring of Animal Command

Increases the base AP of the Primary, Extra and Counter attacks of all friendly Animal units by 100% while reducing the base AP of the Primary, Extra and Counter attacks of all enemy Animal units by 100%. Note that this item's increase and decrease are to base unit values, so Enlarge Animal will still improve statistics significantly and will distort the reduction results. Also note that on the Arch Server, there is no increase or reduction to Extra AP.

Rotten Food

Destroys 5,000 - 15,000 of the target enemy mage's population. On Arch Server, this value is 10,000 - 30,000.

Sage Stone

Grants the user 1,000,000 - 2,000,000 geld.

Satchel of Mist

Reduces the accuracy of both friendly and enemy units by 10%.

Scroll of Protection from Fire

Grants all friendly units +40% Fire Resistance. On the Arch Server, this bonus value is 50%.

Sogrom's Binding

Sets the initiative of a random enemy stack to 0. This item is only active on Arch Server.

Staff of Illusion
 • Deals a variable amount of Magic damage to all enemy stacks.
 • The damage is equal to: (100,000 + [(random number between 1-3) x (numberofunitsinstack)].
 • For example, if the random number turns out to be 2 and there are 1,000 units in a stack, the damage would be 102,000.
Strange Metallic Can

Resurrects 25% of the user's casualties at the end of battle for all stacks that were not completely annihilated.

The Head of Medusa

Destroys 1 - 10 units of one random enemy stack.

The Spider's Web

Reduces the initiative of all enemy units by 1.

Total Newbie Handbook

Summons 5,000 frogs or 5,000 squirrels.

Treasure Chest

Grants either 500,000 geld, 5 lesser items, a Unique Item, or nothing. The chances for a Unique are 2%. The Unique comes from the Unique Items currently present in the Unique Pool. If there are no Unique Items in the Pool, then the mage will get a message stating that there are no Uniques available. On Beta and Lightning Server, it will take a random Unique and give it to the mage, regardless of if it was owned or not (it is capable of stealing).

Treasure Map

Grants either 1,000,000 geld, 5 lesser items, the location of a Unique Item (displays the mage who possesses the Unique), or nothing. This item is disabled on all servers except Arch and Guildwar.

Vial of Venom

Adds the Poison attack type to the Primary Attack of all friendly units with a Melee attack type. This item is disabled on the Solo Server.

Voodoo Doll

Destroys 2-8 turns from target enemy mage. The target enemy mage's turns cannot go into negative by being targeted by the Doll.

Wine of the Three Whips

Increase your population by 10% or the delta between your current population and your population limit, whichever is lower.
