Corruption can be supported at approximately 3000 acres as a black running Black Sabbath, which gives a lot of extra mana.  Below that, it is nearly impossible to support the mana requirements of the units summoned, and they are undisbandable.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
One big &amp;quot;problem&amp;quot; is that fallen troops have TREMENDOUS cost:net power ratios.  Some of the worst in the game.  Therefore, when people look at the ranking boards, you will appear like you have almost no army compared to the people around you.  They may assume you are recently recovering from a Contract of the Soul.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
However, Fallen Troops are insanely difficult to beat.  Especially by anyone that attacks Black.  Even very fat, using just FAA and FD with either Blue's Paralyze or Fog Cloud on defense, I probably lost 3 in 90+ battles.  No item needed to be assigned--and I found it wasteful to assign any because I got attacked so much they quickly were used up.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Offense can be a problem.  Fallen Troops are very powerful, but for their net power, it can be difficult to maintain an army and take land at even mid-levels.  If you get a healthy chunk of FAA or FD you can probably just explore until 3500+ acres and never lose.  But before then it's difficult to have enough fodder to also take land, because you'll almost certainly be negative mana and won't be able to summon anything except the fallen.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You also become susceptible to pillages.  However, black is almost never pillaged because everyone assumes you will have mass zombies and/or skeletons.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It's kind of an all-or nothing spell.  If you get Corruption early enough, you can rise without the traditional problems of black.  You in essence become one of the hardest colors to beat in any kind of fight.  But you give up a lot of offense to do it.  I never managed to get it to high land, but a stack of fallen troops protecting the weaker black heavy hitters like Unholy Reapers would be scary.&lt;br /&gt;

This spell only really works for {{black}} nethers, although it is attainable by all colors through the [[Black Market]].&lt;br /&gt;

* On defense and in counters, [[Devils]] show up in such numbers that they almost always [[stack wipe]] the top stack of the enemy.&lt;br /&gt;
* Spending turns under this enchantment makes you lose your pop in a hurry, and when that happens the devils leave. You will lose geld too.&lt;br /&gt;
* At that moment a special hero the Devil Prince appears, who stays in your kingdom for 3 days of turns, and who prevents you from taking geld, items and population home by [[pillage|pillaging]]. This makes recovery after [[Contract of the Soul]] difficult. &lt;br /&gt;
** So, since you know you're going to be in a pop and geld crunch: prepare yourself for it e.g. by buying [[Book of Prophecy]] and [[Wine of the Three Whips]].&lt;br /&gt;

* You can devil every 72 hours (provided you spend enough turns to lose the hero devil prince in that time).&lt;br /&gt;

* Upon casting CoS, for the next 72 hours, your Black Sabbath spell will no longer generate the &amp;quot;static&amp;quot; mana that adds to your kingdom's upkeep. However, the &amp;quot;random&amp;quot; mana generated per turn taken will continue to be awarded. When the devil prince has left your kingdom, you will see that the &amp;quot;static&amp;quot; mana generation of Black Sabbath returned as per normal.&lt;br /&gt;

* It is not a requirement as part of the contract to force expiry via population depletion.&lt;br /&gt;

* When CoS is activated, Satan will send devils to aid you in warfare. The amount sent on a &amp;quot;non-machine-counter&amp;quot; is going to be less than 50, almost as useful as an ally who sends you 50 water elementals as reinforcement. The amount sent on a &amp;quot;defense&amp;quot; or &amp;quot;machine-counter&amp;quot; is going to be proportional to the population you have. The exact value is unknown, but I estimate it to be 1/80 of your max population, i.e. with 700,000 population, Satan will send 9000 devils, equivalent to 9000 water elementals as reinforcement. During Armageddon, the number of devils sent will decline dramatically, making CoS extremely unattractive to use at this time.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* Having CoS upon does not make you invulnerable. Your kingdom will engage in warfare under normal victory regulations&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* Having CoS activated will stunt population income. In addition, for every turn you take, you will lose approximately 10,000,000 Gold and 100,000 Population in addition to your normal unit upkeep. Typically at 3,000 acres, you should be expecting around 250,000 Population lost for every attack conducted under CoS.&lt;br /&gt;
