So if the defending green mage is running Enlarge animal, using the ring against him will leave his animals with the bonus AP he receives from the enchantment : Griffon base AP is 2750. Enlarge Animal grants him an extra 47%, about 1293 which is the AP of the Griffons resulted from using the ring against him.
