As far as my experience with this item, it will give +25% AP, +25% Counter and +25% HP to Demon units. The side effect is that it will -25% HP of non-Demon units that you have. I haven't test using Undead units yet.

It looks like a plate mail made by some blackened material. But in fact, it is one of the lost artifact dated back from the War of the Mages. The armor emanates dark energies and only demonic creatures from negative plane can survive it's life-draining influence. In fact, it appears to strenghten them. The ancient plate also seems to drain magical power from the wearer.
