Depending on Attack type,

MAGIC and PSYCHIC have damage modifer of x1.0


Attacks with type Magic or Psychic have a damage modifer of x1.0 while all other attack types have a damage modifier of between x0.2-0.8 (decided randomly each battle). For this reason Magic and Psychic attacks are on average twice as powerful as other types.
