-IE are one of the 3 elementals you can randomly get from the Conjure Elemental spell. It can be difficult to use the spell because it is expensive, it is random in what it provides, and each elemental has relatively different characterstics, making it hard to plan for them.
-One of the most damaging units in the game for its net power (about 23 damage per net power, a Chimera has about 19), and the THE most damaging ultimate, IE suffer from fairly low defenses for an ultimate unit just like all of Phantasm's elementals. With 0 Fire/Breath, Weakness to Fire and relatively low Melee and Ranged for a ground unit, it is easy to lose huge numbers of them if they are placed too high in your stack. Fortunately, both their attacks are Ranged, and thus it is easy to stack them lower. But it's better to delete some to place them lower in your army, than have the enemy delete them for you.
-One of IE's attacks is at initiative 1. Which means slow and other Web of the Spider, can potentially negate it.
