The Antique store on the Black Market is the place for buying and selling Items.

Item buying

Items are sold in a flogging. You never know before if your bid will win you the item - it is always possible it is overbid. Pay attention when buying: be sure you bid on the correct item and you enter the correct amount that you wish to bid. You cannot cancel a bid you have made!

  • As you place a bid, an amount of geld is taken from your storage.
    • Beware when bidding on items and trying to get God Favour at the same time.
  • The next bid should be at least 5% of the old bid.
  • Bidding on items takes a turn each time you place bids.
    • One can place multiple bids in the same turn.
  • Other mages on the server are given 30 minutes to attempt to outbid you.
  • If you are outbid you will receive an in-game informing message offering you to quickly re-establish a higher bid.
  • Meanwhile, the amount of your original bid is returned to your storage.
  • If your bid wins the goodies, you’ll receive a confirming message and will find them in your inventory.
    • It is wise to delete messages from the Black Market and clean your messagelist that way.

  • Ancient Spell scrolls also appear very rarely

Item selling

  • Selling an item does not cost you turns.
  • The amount that a mage receives is less than what the Black Market receives for it, to avoid abuse of this game function as a way of transferring geld from one specific mage to another.
  • You may receive (far) less geld for your item, than was bid on it
    • e.g. you received 5 million for a Carpet of Flying you put in the Market, while it sold for 10 million).
    • The price at which the item appeared on the market is a good estimate for the amount of geld that the seller will receive.
    • The latter fluctuates depending on earlier sold items, so don't be surprised if another mage receives more/less geld for selling the same item at a later time.

Inflation

  • Price for a lesser item at first selling on begin of reset:  ???50,000 geld
  • Price for Unique Items at first selling on begin of reset: ??? 500,000 geld
  • These price quickly become higher and higher, especially for items for which there is a lot of demand and bidding competition.
  • A guild that has a lot of geld, can deliberately bid high ammounts of geld on certain items, thereby raising the costs and prohibiting other guilds to gather large quantities of 'dangerous' war items.

Monopoly

  • The total number of items is limited for each type of item (e.g. it is linkend to the number of mages and age of the game round)
  • This means a powerfull guild can try to get a virtual monopoly on certain items, by gathering as many as possible of them - and not using them.
