Bard
Unique in their talent, it is the skill of the Bard to weave complex enchantments, not through magic, but through music. Normally residing in inns, and taverns, and easily making a profit, it is rare that a Bard should decide to work for an Archmage, but these are strange times. At times of trouble, they can use their music to inspire warriors before battle, and use their eloquence to gather more recruits for armies.

Song
- Increases Primary and Counter AP of all your units by 2% + 1%/lvl.
- Reduces Primary and Counter AP of all enemy units by 2% + 1%/lvl. Is a phantasm spell and can be resisted, phantasm resist is fairly rare though.
Song is a superior version of Valor in that it both increases your AP and reduces the enemy's.
Charisma
Increases recruit rate by 4% + 2%/lvl. Not very useful as barrack units are fairly weak and are generally only used to powerup during armageddon.
Summary
Bard is a Sprite, Phantasm hero. This means he can command Sprite or Siren stacks and grant them an efficiency bonus. He also has a ranged Psychic attack, which is fairly good and the hero isn't expensive to maintain.
The fact that he is a Sprite isn't very good, since Sprites/Sirens have a very bad habit of being stackwiped because of their low hp, which can result in your Bard being destroyed. I recommend that if you get a Bard to avoid using those units or stack them in sufficient numbers they won't all be killed.
Bards command a high price on the market due to Song.
