Attack Power is commonly also referred to as: AP

Attack Power is the raw unmodified damage a unit deals. This term is commonly tied to the different unit attacks (Attack, Extra Attack, and Counter), and is not a very useful piece of information unless combined with the other sections of the battle formula (such as Accuracy, Efficiency, Resistances to the 'attack type', as well as several other modifiers).

Many spells, enchantments, items, unique items, hero abilities modify AP from the base values mentioned in the Encyclopedia.
