Rules of Engagement or ROE
The rules that mages (or groups of mages) set to themselves, eachother and their enemies.
What many mages consider 'honourable'

difference between rules in ROE's and game rules
Game rules (way the code works, thing that are forbidden to do decalogue) are something completely different than ROE's. The first rules are enforced by the admins and apply to all - the second are not enforced by admins, powerfull mages can enforce them on their enemies, but only if they are powerfull enough.
