Spell Attributes | Lists of Simple, Average, Complex, Ultimate & Ancient Spells
This is an advanced level spell of the lightning blast spell. It will shoot a powerful bolt of lightning at one enemy group causing heavy lightning damage, leaving it in state of shock which will hinder it's ability to fight. After that, it will split into secondary lightning bolts which will sweep through the battlefield, harming everything in their way. This spell is very effective against massive amounts of weak units, although it has to be used with care. Area of effect: all enemy units.

Effects
Chain Lightning has three effects:
- Deal heavy LIGHTNING damage to one random enemy stack.
- Deal weak LIGHTNING damage to all enemy stacks, based on number of units in the stack.
- ONCOLOR only: decrease all enemy stacks attack power (Primary/Extra/Counter).
All three effects can be resisted separately.
Heavy Damage
Targets one random stack.
- ONCOLOR : 2000 to 4000 * SL = ~940k to ~1.9m dmg
- OFFCOLOR : 1000 to 2000 * SL = ~460k to ~920k dmg
- OPPOSITE : 500 to 1000 * SL = ~230k to ~630k dmg
Weak Damage
Affects all stacks, can be individually resisted.
- ONCOLOR : 0.04 to 0.08 * SL * NumberOfUnitsInStack = ~18.8k to ~37.6k dmg if there are 1000 units in the stack.
- OFFCOLOR : 0.02 to 0.04 * SL * NumberOfUnitsInStack = ~9.9k to ~35k dmg if there are 1000 units in the stack.
- OPPOSITE : 0.01 to 0.02 * SL * NumberOfUnitsInStack = ~4.3k to ~12.6k dmg if there are 1000 units in the stack.
Reduce AP
Affects all stacks, can be individually resisted.

11 193 159 to skele = 13.7196 per skel
00 122 500 to wraith = 13.69 per wraith
01 933 652 to zombie = 13.7188060 per zombie
00 679 104 to pikeman = 13.71 per pikeman
I guess does 13.7 damage per unit to each stack.
Notes
- Before 2007, this spell targeted all units (yours + enemy's). [1]
Given the nature of equations used to calculate the power of direct damage stacks, I would estimate the damage Chain Lightning deals is dictated by the following formula:
Spell Level * X * # of units in the stack
Where X is equal to: (Not sure whether this Nether had Magic favor. I am assuming he cast it with a base 470 Spell Level. The first number is without Magic favor, second is with. This coefficient is theorized to be 50% of on-color size for off-color casters, and 25% of on-color size for opposing color casters).
On-Color: .0582 or .0558 Off-Color: .0291 or .0279 Opposing Color: .01455 or .01395
Keep in mind that this is unconfirmed.
