Griffons are horse size creatures that have the front of a giant eagle (including wings) and the hind of a lion. It feeds primarily on horse flesh, but will settle for any meaty foe. It attacks with razor sharp claws, raking its oppenents in a high speed dive. It also can bite a horse's head clean off with its powerful beak. There have been rumors of those that can ride these creatures as mounts.

Additional Comments
Griffons are overall good units. Their Fire and Breath resistances makes them especially suitable against Reds, and if they are paired against Chimeras will generally rip them apart.
Beware when using Griffons of casting [[Call Hurricane|CH]: you will ground your own Griffons and make them unable to attack. Thus the best spell to use in combination with them is generally Rust Armor.
There are a host of things that benefit animals which include enchantments, items, heroes and skills.
While Amazons and the Rings are optional, it should be no problem at all to maintain the two enchantments, Enlarge Animal as well as Nature's Lore. Leveling Animal Mastery makes animals even better.
