Alchemists are those who are versed in the practice of alchemy. In the beginning, they were only interested in turning metal into gold or extracting juices from plants for medical purposes. It later brought forth the invention of so many wonders, but the secrets of alchemy were lost when the old World was destroyed millennia ago. Recently, the art of alchemy was revived by some mages and soon it became a hit topic among the mages. However, the current alchemy is quite different from the alchemy of the Old World.

Summary

Alchemists, like most non-battle heroes, only start to pay off at higher levels. At low levels, they cost a LOT of m.p. and gain only a little geld. An alchemist drains mana: if you want to test how much, disable the alchemy skill, check your status report for your base mana income, put the alchemy skill back on and check it again. You'll see a difference.
