Dread Knight is a demon, Nether unit with a cold attack and a very high cost. Not only does he have one of the highest geld costs of any hero, but he also costs mana and population (though not much of either). Still, he is a very popular hero in TR because of his Terror ability.

As a demon, he can give efficiency bonus to any demon stack he leads, which includes Horned Demons and Demon knights, which are available to non-nethers.

First off, he has Valor which is always nice, but again, he is bought for his Terror, which reduces the enemy's Accuracy in combat. I have to disagree with the main page in that I don't think the value is 5% +1%/lvl. That strikes me as WAY too high. Sun's favor only grants +3% accuracy. It would take a Warlord, one of the most powerful heroes in the game, 20th lvl before he could counter the effects of a 17th lvl Dread Knight -- and the DK would still have Valor and Unholy Aura, whereas the Warlord would have only Charisma, which pretty much sucks.

In my limited experience, TR makes it easier in general to hurt than resist hurting. Otherwise this war game would come to a stand still the majority of the time. So I would GUESS that a Dread Knight's Terror would be just the same as a Warlord's Tactics: 1% a lvl, with no starting bonus. Since Warlord gets it at 14 and Dread Knight at 16, you would have more offensive power around in the game on average. But that's just my hunch.

In any case, the reduction in Accuracy is very powerful, especially when combined with creatures who already have Accuracy affecting abilities such as Swift, Fear, Beauty.

Unholy Aura is gained at 14 and provides a small amount of holy resist to your units.
