The amount of cash that a merchant makes may seem small compared to the price you pay - but it comes all the time, no matter if you keep [[towns]] and [[farms]]. This makes your mage invulnerable to death, very nice for mages fighting in the low ranks and during war. Commands a very high price on the market. Unless you expect to war, don't buy it unless there are sufficient turns left before Armageddon for you to make a sizable profit.
